- Group Work
I understand the connection between empowerment and recovery—and that our choices can change our lives. We can use where we have been and where we are to direct where we are going. I believe in the use of creative, empowering, and practical approaches to life’s challenges to develop greater meaning. I strive to greet each person I work with from a place of deep respect, gratitude, openness, and authenticity. We will work together to remember that you are more than the worst thing that has ever happened to you and that you can rewrite your own story.
Having earned my doctorate from Georgia State University and finishing at Yale, I have worked with substance use disorders, PTSD, depression, anxiety, serious mental illness and general/social stressors. My clients have included men, women, veterans, people of color, and LGBTQ individuals. Currently specializing in trauma therapies, I use evidence-based and integrative modalities (including mindfulness practice) to address some of the stories that keep trauma survivors stuck.
